About Truro Town Fund

About Us

Truro Towns Fund is an opportunity for us to unlock investment to build a vibrant future for our city.

In June 2021, Truro was awarded £23.6 million from the Government’s £3.6 billion Towns Fund to bring a step-change in how we live, work and enjoy Truro.

This money will help us to future proof Truro whilst celebrating its unique character.

Drawing on the inspiration and insight from people who care passionately about Truro’s future, the team has developed seven projects that are set to transform our city and local economy.

  • Truro Harbour & Lemon Quay
  • Truro Community Hub
  • Green Transport
  • The Hive at Pydar
  • New Life for City Buildings
  • Boscawen Park Sport and Recreation Hub
  • Royal Cornwall Museum

Why Truro?

Truro is a unique place nestled in the heart of Cornwall at the confluence of three rivers.

In fact, it is believed that the name Truro comes from the Cornish word Tri-veru which means three rivers.

Truro’s a Cathedral city filled with the warmth and friendliness of a thriving market town. It’s home to lots of independent shops along with excellent restaurants and exciting cultural events.
